Case Study: Removable Overdenture Bar

Pictured here is the basis for a Nobel Biocare removable overdenture bar.  Like other overdenture bars, this bar will be topped with a full denture.

The two milled titanium bars shown here are topped with Nobel Locator attachments, which allow the patient to insert and remove the overdenture as needed.  For some patients, this increased flexibility is an important feature.

Like other overdenture bars, removable overdentures are great options for patients with significant bone loss and other retention issues.  Not only do they provide proper support and chewing strength, overdenture bars prevent further bone loss by preventing the wearing down of the bone that traditional denture patients experience.
